Get insight into our Online Digital Photography Program and the philosophy behind it. The Bachelor of Fine Arts in Art in Digital Photography at ASU is the first online program from a research 1 university or fine art college in the nation to offer a studio practice-based degree. Working with a faculty of professional artists, students have the opportunity to master technical, aesthetic and conceptual aspects of digital photography.

Arizona State University faculty Devoney Looser and Kevin Sandler moderated this March 31, 2017 conversation with writer-director Whit Stillman after a screening of his 1990 film "Metropolitan." Audiences may be most familiar with Stillman's award-winning, Jane Austen-inspired 2016 film, "Love and Friendship," which starred Kate Beckinsdale as the deliciously awful widow, Lady Susan. Stillman has had a long, fruitful relationship with reimagining Austen for contemporary audiences. He describes himself as a long-time Austenite ("among the most fervent") and had previously revisited Austen material in his Mansfield Park-influenced "Metropolitan."

This is a lecture featuring Professor Betsy Schneider from the Digital Photography Online Program. Betsy Schneider is a photographer and filmmaker who explores and documents transformations of individuals and families over time and place. She holds a BA from the University of Michigan, a BFA from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, and an MFA from Mills College in Oakland, California. She is the Founder, Lead Instructor and Coordinator of ASU's Online BFA in Digital Photography .
